The diversity of high risk activity is present in buildings and construction industries. To prevent deaths, injuries and illness, the hazard that construction people are facing must be managed.

The construction industry employs skilled workers who build various infrastructures or buildings. Their work includes erection, construction, extension and structural alteration.

Other construction services include:

? Site preparation? Excavation and landscaping work done in connection with construction work.? Installation or assembly of pre-fabricated components used in construction work? Separation of a structure or part of a structure into its pre-fabricated components? Demolition work or asbestos removal work

In almost all of the above services, concrete is used in one way or another. Appropriate tools and equipment must be utilized when concrete. Here are different kinds of tools and equipment used for working with concrete:

Men, Construction, and Their Tools

For those who have worked in construction, you know the importance of good tools. It is almost impossible to get a job done quickly when you have inferior tools or lack the proper tools.

When you first start a job to build a home or any other type of building one of the first things that happens is the pouring of concrete for the footing and foundation. In this process, rebar is required to help strengthen the concrete.

When working with rebar in any concrete work, including the footing and foundation, it is helpful to have a rebar bender. This tool assists you in bending the rebar to the shape that you need. Often times, it is used to turn a corner in a foundation to eliminate waste.

As the project moves near the end, another tool that is helpful is a tile saw. Far more people do their own concrete work than do their own tile, but if you are going to do your own tile it is important to make sure that you have the right tools.

A tile saw is one of those right tools.

A tile saw is used to cut the delicate tiles to the size and shape that is needed to fit in any given space where tile is being laid. A professional tile layer will usually cut a tile 2-4 times before they have it right. They work, almost like an artist to make sure that everything fits perfectly.

Construction is something that people either love or hate. Those who love to work in construction also love to use their tools. They find joy in being able to build something with their own two hands and the tools in their pickup.

Those who do not enjoy construction work are more likely to be those who were not raised around it and so they never grew an appreciation for it.

These people also tend to dislike Christmas Eve night when they are trying to put a toy together late at night.

For those who like construction and tools, construction tools are the next in line when it comes to man’s best friend. They can talk to each other for hours about them and like to show them off. They can spend a lot of money on a tool that they may only use a time or two in the foreseeable future, but they want it and get it nonetheless.

Types of Sculpture – Construction Techniques

construction tools

Sculpture is a broad term for many types of three-dimensional art. Sculpture can take many forms and can be constructed using a variety of techniques including assembling, casting and modeling.

When assembling, an artist combines a collection of materials to create a sculpture. An assemblage could be made of found objects or construction materials such as wood and screws. Assembled sculptures can differ greatly and can be constructed in a variety of ways, such as gluing, tying, nailing and weaving.

Casting refers to the act of pouring a material into a mold. The material will set and then the mold will be removed to reveal the sculpture. Artists can cast using plaster of paris, ceramic slip or even molten metals. Each cast material will require different mold materials and safety procedures. The artist usually creates a mold based on a modeled sculpture they have previously completed.

Modeling refers to the act of shaping a moldable material with hands and tools. Artists primarily use clay to create modeled sculptures. Modeling is a tactile technique that requires artists to use their hands. Modeling tools such as knifes and smoothers can also be used to perfect a modeled sculpture.

Finally, carving can also be used to create a sculpture. Artists who carve a sculpture cut away existing material to create a sculpture. Artists can carve stone, wood and even non-traditional materials such as plastic. Different materials will require different tools. Stone will require chisels, wheras wood will require wood-carving tools.

Use the construction techniques of assembling, casting, modeling and carving to create original sculptural works of art.
